"Nice Ås....nes" That's what people will say to you as you glide through the forest on this lovely pair of early 1960s Åsnes touring skis. Åsnes sold a lot of skis in America, but these are from before that time, judging from the unique logo design. These beautiful waterslide decals were replaced by the direct paint method used by the company from the 1960s until their demise.
As mentioned this particular model is from the early 1960s, and was purchased from a seller in Bergen, on the western coast of Norway. Bergen is set at the base of a very mountainous area, and wide skis like these are popular there. The Kandahar bindings have been replaced at least once, as one can see by the drill holes above the current binding placement.
