Great item to add to your collection of vintage ski stuff. 1950s Swix blue hard wax. Likely produced at Astra's production location at Elvevein 26, Fjellhamar. (if you're ever driving or taking the train from the airport into Oslo sentrum, Fjellhamar is close to where the current "Snø" indoor skiing facility is that you can see from the road)
During this time Swix was producing wax in both Sweden and Norway. In the early 1960s all production was moved to a new Astra (parent of Swix) production facility in Lørenskog, which is a tad closer to Oslo than Fjellhamar. To this day Swix wax is still made in Norway.
"the Swix boy" (Sv. «Swix-gutten») on the caps was phased out of Swix product graphics in late 60s.
