It's hard to believe that these skis are nearly 60 years old.  They have seen limited use, and the bases have been nicely restored to near original condition.  The tops are in almost pristine shape (on one ski the clamp was initially mounted too low; this was adjusted by Skifabrikk-see pic), and the identifying decals are nearly unblemished.

Madshus in Lillehammer, Norway, has been making skis for over 100 years.  This pair of touring skis hails from the 1960s.  The bindings are a "Røyken Jern" cable style - Røyken was/is a town between Oslo and Drammen just to the southwest, and jern is the Norwegian word for iron.  The cable-type bindings will accommodate nearly any type of boot if adjusted correctly.

A couple of more interesting notes - the waterslide decals on the tips, above the Madshus logo, indicate that the skis were sold by the former Lorang Andersen sporting goods store on Vogts gate in Oslo.  Lorang Andersen was a Norwegian combined (jump and "running"/cross-country) skier from the 1930s.  The other fun fact is that according to Madshus, the Clipper name was eventually sold to a now-defunct PanAm airlines for their use.
