It's hard to believe that these skis are over 60 years old. They have seen limited use, and the bases still show the red protective coat that was applied at the factory. The tops are in almost pristine shape with the exception of a few scratches (see pic) that have been expertly touched up.
Madshus in Lillehammer, Norway, has been making skis for over 100 years. This pair of touring skis hails from the early 1960s; probably towards the end of "Clipper" production because the skis feature lignostone edges. The bindings are classic Gresshoppa cable-style. This type of binding can accommodate nearly any type of boot if adjusted correctly.
Fun fact - according to Madshus, the Clipper name was eventually sold to a now-defunct PanAm airlines for their use.
